Patch 1.26 for Horizon Forbidden West is now available on PS5! Thanks to everyone who submitted their bug reports via the Support Form while exploring the Burning Shores; the team has been working hard to address several issues in this patch. Have a look at the patch notes below to see the changes, and make sure to update your game before jumping back in! Please be aware that these notes might contain spoilers.
FIXES AND IMPROVEMENTS
Main Quests
Fixed an issue for Main Quest “Heaven and Earth” where if during “Fly to Starlight Rise” objective players fast travel to the Forbidden West and leave their flying mount downed there, upon returning to the Burning Shores overrides work incorrectly, blocking progression.
Fixed an issue for Main Quest “Heaven and Earth” where players could reach and interact with the second ballista in the chasm without Seyka’s help, resulting in quest objectives not properly updating and blocking progression.
Fixed an issue for Main Quest “Heaven and Earth” where Seyka could get stuck behind a door, blocking progression.
Fixed an issue for Main Quest “Heaven and Earth” where entering the door code during “Search the Ruins for Londra and the Missing Quen” objective and then reloading from save would result in the quest being stuck on “Find the Door Code” objective while the door is already open, blocking progression.
Fixed an issue for Main Quest “Heaven and Earth” where leaving the quest area and quick saving at a campfire could result in quest progression being blocked.
Fixed an issue for Main Quest “Heaven and Earth” where under certain conditions creation of multiple autosaves could lead to progression being blocked.
Fixed an issue for Main Quest “The Stars in Their Eyes” where reloading from save during “Scan the Device” objective would cause the objective to not display in the Quest Log nor as an in-game marker, possibly causing confusion and blocking progression.
Fixed an issue for Main Quest “For His Amusement” where overriding a Waterwing during “Meet Seyka at the Waterwing Site” objective would result in the objective not updating, blocking progression.
Side Quests
Fixed an issue for Side Quest “In His Wake” where fast traveling away during “Investigate the Skirmish Site” objective while callouts about Pirik’s note play could cause the objective to not update, blocking progression.
Fixed an issue for Side Quest “A Friend in the Dark” where Gildun would not enter the elevator if players reach and use the valve wheel without going through the vent, potentially blocking progression.
Fixed an issue for Side Quest “A Friend in the Dark” where Gildun would not enter the elevator if players push the first wagon halfway, leaving Gildun on the wagon, possibly blocking progression.
World Activities
Fixed an issue for Cauldron “THETA'' where the shield in the second puzzle room would reappear when players died three times after disabling it, blocking progression.
Fixed an issue for “Aerial Capture: East” where a “Pangea Figurines” callout would interrupt the audio log, after which it would not play again.
Datapoints
Fixed an issue for “Notes on Londra’s Code” datapoint where the datapoint would not be awarded to players if they enter the door code before finishing the planetarium puzzle.
Weapons
Fixed an issue for the Specter Gauntlet where it would not be upgraded with the Railgun Mode if the weapon is in the player’s stash while crafting the upgrade.
Skills
Fixed an issue for the Trap Mines Valor Surge where the second wave of level 3 Trap Mines would not trigger if any of the first wave mines were detonated prior.
Performance and Stability
Multiple crash fixes.
Photo mode
Fixed an issue for Photo Mode where under certain conditions the lighting would flicker while maneuvering the camera close to water level.
Other
Increased the spawn rate of salmon in the Forbidden West area
Fixed multiple issues where players could get stuck in assets and/or geometry or fall out of the world.
Fixed an issue where players were not able to travel with a flying mount between the Burning Shores and the Forbidden West at specific sections of the border.

Fixed an issue in “To The Burning Shores” where the Defense Drone’s laser VFX were not visible after dying/restarting checkpoint.
Fixed an issue in “To The Burning Shores” where the “Search for a Way Up the Tower” objective could not be completed if the player destroys the pullable ceiling too early.
Fixed an issue in “Heaven and Earth” where leaving the Observatory before the objective updates to “Find the Transmitter” causes the transmitter not to be interactable, conditionally blocking progression.
Fixed an issue in “Heaven and Earth” where entering the code to open Londra’s private room before the objective updates to “Find the Door Code” causes the objective to not update correctly.
Fixed an issue where the Zenith Tower’s shots would not kill Aloy and Seyka during “Heaven and Earth – Fly to Starlight Rise”, resulting in an awkward swim back to land.

Stopped Gildun’s hands from clipping through Aloy’s hair when Gildun gives her a hug.
Fixed an issue in “A Friend in the Dark” where Aloy is able to place the Pullable Box halfway through the elevator’s exit which conditionally blocks further progression if the player jumps down.
World Activities
Fixed several treasure chests that were located under the ground’s geometry.
Fixed Aloy saying that she’s “picking up another signal” after completing Aerial Capture: South.
Fixed an issue in Cauldron THETA where if the player makes progress in the first room of the Cauldron, backtracks to the entrance and returns, their progress will be reset and callouts repeated.
Machines
Fixed an issue where the Stingspawn’s eye light shone brightly in the distance, but the Stingspawn itself wasn’t visible.
Fixed the Stormbird’s repeated use of the “Thunder Dive” attack without a triggering cooldown.
Fixed an issue where flying out and immediately going back to the Burning Shores area will cause the player to spawn midair without the mount, possibly causing death by falling.
Fixed an issue where the Tideripper can appear to warp through the air.
Weapons
Fixed an issue where the Weapon Wheel displays an incorrect amount of ammo for the Specter Gauntlet if Aloy is forced to stow her weapon by a Status Effect while she is aiming a Designator.
Acid Resistance boost lowered by 10% on Quen Deadeye, Quen Commander, Blacktide Quen Commander and Tenakth Vanquisher to align the acid resistance to the other elementals
Fixed an issue where Aloy was unable to equip weapons following a Clamberjaw attack.
UI/UX
Fixed an issue in Relic Ruins: Murmuring Hollow where the Battery Stations in the carts and the Ornament room shows a powerless indicator with a charged battery inside after reloading the autosave.

Fixed an issue where Aloy kept her Diving Mask on during two cinematics in Main Quest “Death’s Door” in New Game Plus playthroughs.

Horizon Forbidden West 1.024 update fixed an issue for Relic Ruin “Murmuring Hollow” where the energy cell could be thrown off the cliff, blocking progression.
Fixed an issue where the Stormbird could become idle in the storm cloud when players approached it at a certain timing. This left players unable to start “Aerial Capture: West” and unable to collect the Delver’s Trinket collectable “Mighty Pint,” thereby blocking the Errand Quest “The Delvers’ Trove”.
Fixed an issue for the “Delvers’ Trinket” collectables where players could skip part of the puzzle while collecting the “Cherished Flask.”
Fixed an issue for the “Pangea Figurines” collectables where players could not collect the “Green Raptor” if they left the parking garage after opening the trunk in which the collectable is located.
Fixed an issue for the “Pangea Figurines” collectables where due to a mistranslation for several languages in the description of the “Green Raptor,” players could not enter the correct code for this collectable at the Dino Digits Quiz, blocking progression.
Fixed an issue for the “Pangea Figurines” collectables where for several languages the code information was missing from the description of the “Dimorphodon,” making the Dino Digits Quiz incompletable.
Datapoints
Fixed an issue for datapoint “Notes on Londra’s Code” where players would not be awarded the datapoint in their notebook if they enter the code correctly.
Fixed multiple issues for “Pangea Figurines” collectables where for several languages the description would not show up for the “Dimorphodon,” “Queen Rex,” and “Reggie the Pterodactyl.” Players would miss out on information needed to complete the Dino Digits Quiz.
Machines
Horizon Forbidden West 1.024 fixed an issue where unmarked machine sites would not spawn machines after players reached Ghost Level 101.
Weapons
Fixed an issue for the Specter Gauntlet where the option to craft the upgrade obtained during Side Quest “In His Wake” would still display at some workbenches after crafting.
Fixed an issue for the Specter Gauntlet where crafting ammo would use all available resources from both the Inventory and the Stash.
Skills
Fixed an issue for the Workbench Expert skill where it would not decrease the cost of crafting ammo for the Specter Gauntlet.
UI/UX
Fixed an issue for the Fabrication Terminal where despite unlocking overrides for all machines, a question mark would still be present for the last entry, potentially causing confusion.
Performance and Stability
Multiple crash/hang fixes.

Fixed an issue for photo mode where using it inside the Horus could cause camera clipping and graphical flickering.

Fixed an issue for the Stormbird in the storm cloud where if players were killed and then left the area, upon returning and killing the Stormbird the electric discharge would not open the locked doors on the island. This left players unable to start “Aerial Capture: West” and unable to collect Delver’s Trinket collectable “Mighty Pint”, thereby blocking the Errand Quest “The Delver’s Trove”.
Fixed an issue for the Stormbird in the storm cloud where callouts and tracks were present during Main Quest “To the Burning Shores” although the Stormbird encounter is not active during this quest.
Fixed an issue for Delver’s Trinket collectable “Music Box” where the item’s description would not show up in the notebook. This issue blocked the Errand Quest “The Delver’s Trove”.
Fixed an issue for “Pangea Figurines” where players were able to enter the answers to the Dino Digits Quiz before collecting the figurines, making it incompletable later.
Datapoints
Fixed a translation issue for datapoint “IN FOR IT” guiding players “northwest” when it should be “northeast”, possibly causing issues finding “Pangea Figurines” collectable the “Green Raptor”. Without this collectable, players would not be able to complete the Dino Digits Quiz.

Addressed a bug in Errand Quest “Opening the Arena” where Kalla did not spawn inside the Maw of the Arena after the player gathered the necessary machine parts.
World Activities
Addressed a bug in Cauldron IOTA where the player could get permanently stuck if they fall down during the final climb to the Tallneck’s head.
Addressed a bug in Cauldron IOTA where the Manufacturing Arm holding the Tallneck’s Head would be in a jammed state, blocking mission progression.
Addressed a bug in Cauldron KAPPA where the “Kill the Tideripper” objective could not be completed after killing the Tideripper very quickly. Another Tideripper that needed disciplining! We definitely know who our naughtiest machines are.
Addressed a bug in Relic Ruins: The Stillsands where a pullable crate could get stuck in the ceiling.
Addressed a bug in The Arena where quitting during a fixed Challenge could result in the player losing their loadout, and it being replaced with the loadout from the Arena Challenge.
Added a new cinematic camera in The Arena when ending a challenge, stopping the camera from pointing at a wall.
Brightened the nighttime lighting around Black Box: Jagged Deep.
Addressed a bug in Melee Pit: Thornmarsh where the Melee Pit Master would become invisible after restarting from save or Fast traveling away at a specific moment.
Machines
Addressed a bug the Notebook loot entry about the Shellsnapper’s ‘Refining Core’ includes Volatile Sludge, despite it having 0% drop chance.
The sturdier mid and large machines will escalate to combat when 35% of their health is lost in one shot.
Humans
Addressed a bug Quest Companions would become unresponsive after being hit in combat.
Weapons/Armor/Skills
Addressed a bug players were unable to use melee attacks after getting hit by Shock/Heavy attacks.
Addressed a bug the Dodge Roll may fail to activate if triggered immediately after firing.
Addressed a bug setting the ‘Weapon Wheel Slowdown’ setting to Slowest will result in noticeable outfit and hair popping when accessing the Weapon Wheel in game.
UI/UX
Addressed a bug introduced in the previous patch, where the player could not place a waypoint marker within 500 meters of the player.
Addressed a bug the Exclamation Point that is visible when a new item is acquired no longer appears
Addressed a bug in the Stitcher merchant screen, where the compare menu would always compare to the base level statistics of the currently equipped outfit, even when it is upgraded.
Added an indicator to show when a Weave is already equipped when changing Weaves.
Updated the Crafting section below the Weapon Wheel with new UI elements to show resource names.
Updated the Skill Points icon to be more noticeable when the player has unspent skill points.
Fixed more Metal Flowers and Firegleam icons remaining on the map.
Addressed a bug after navigating to the bottom of a longer quest’s Objective Log, details of other quests are missing.
Addressed a bug restarting from save after looting Greenshine will result in the Jobs system directing the player to the previously looted site. (NOTE: This will not retroactively fix Jobs for previously looted sites that are already active. For these players, once the player reaches the indicated area, the system will update and the player will be redirected to the correct site).

Fixed an issue in Rebel Camp First Forge where the player can miss obtaining the Sun Scourge bow by reloading a save after looting Asera. NOTE: This will not affect save games of people who “lost” the bow due to reloading the save after picking up the bow but before talking to Erend. These players can revisit Asera’s corpse. Asera’s corpse will always respawn until players have looted the bow from her. Please, take the bow so she can stop haunting the West.
Fixed an issue with Keruf’s “Missing Gear” salvage contract where the contract could not be completed if the player acquired multiples of the required items.
Fixed an issue in the Plainsong Hunting Grounds where trials could sometimes not be started or completed.

Fixed an incorrect statement in the tutorial text for the Purgewater tutorial. The text used to state ‘Once in this state, their elemental attacks are disabled and they become more vulnerable to Frost and Shock attacks.‘ This has been changed to ‘Once in this state, their elemental attacks are disabled and their resistance to all elemental damage and states is reduced.’
Fixed an issue with Coils and Weaves where mods that are meant to increase impact damage instead increase all damage.
Fixed an issue with Coils and Weaves where weaves that grant multiple defense increases show the Plasma Weave icon.
Fixed an edge case where pressing the “throw” action for Rocks would perform a Heavy Melee instead. Stealth players, don’t celebrate too loud, the machines will hear you!
